Solution Guide:Building a High-Efficiency 100L Cream Production Line with the VEM-100

Setting up a production line for cosmetic creams, food sauces, or pharmaceutical ointments requires a holistic approach, integrating equipment that works in harmony. The VEM-100, a 100L Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer, serves as the centerpiece of a mid-scale production operation. This guide outlines the key stages and components required to build a robust, high-efficiency system.

Stage 1: Raw Material Handling and Pre-Mixing

Efficient production begins before the materials even enter the main emulsifying pot. A well-designed line includes separate Oil Phase and Water Phase tanks. These are not just holding vessels; they are equipped with heating and gentle stirring to dissolve and pre-mix ingredients to the required temperature. This ensures that when the phases are combined in the main pot, they are ready for emulsification, saving time and energy. The 100L VEM-100 is compatible with supplementary tanks of appropriate capacity, often around 100-150L, to ensure a smooth workflow.

Stage 2: The Core Emulsification Process

The heart of the line is the VEM-100 Vacuum Emulsifying Mixer. The prepared oil and water phases are transferred into the main pot via the vacuum system (at -0.1 MPa), eliminating exposure to the atmosphere. Inside, the 7.5KW high-speed homogenizer (operating at up to 3000 rpm) and the 2.2KW slow-speed scraper mixer (operating at 0-65 rpm) work concurrently. The homogenizer breaks down particles for a stable emulsion, while the scraper ensures wall-to-wall mixing and efficient heat transfer through the three-layer tank's heating/cooling jacket. The entire process is performed under vacuum to remove all entrapped air.

Stage 3: Integrated Control and Automation

To achieve consistency and repeatability, the line should feature a centralized control system. For the VEM-100, an upgrade to a Siemens PLC touch screen is recommended. This system allows the operator to set, monitor, and log all key parameters—temperature, homogenization and stirring speeds, vacuum level, and processing time. This integration of controls ensures that the same recipe produces the same high-quality product batch after batch, reducing waste and operator error. It also serves as a data-logging tool for quality assurance.

Stage 4: Downstream Filling and Packaging

Once the batch is complete, the product is discharged from the VEM-100 via the bottom valve. From here, it should be transferred to a filling machine suited for viscous products. This could be a piston filler or a tube filler, depending on the final packaging. The filling machine should be capable of handling the product's viscosity without introducing air, preserving the quality achieved in the emulsifier. Seamless integration ensures a smooth transition from bulk product to packaged goods.

Stage 5: Cleaning and Sanitization (CIP)

The final, but critical, stage is cleaning. The VEM-100 is designed for easy sanitation. The lid lifts hydraulically, providing clear access to the interior. The smooth, mirror-polished finish resists product adhesion. A proper Clean-In-Place (CIP) protocol, using appropriate cleaning agents and hot water, should be established. This ensures the line is hygienic and ready for the next batch, which is essential for preventing cross-contamination in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. Regular maintenance of the PTFE scrapers and mechanical seals, as per the manufacturer's schedule, will ensure long-term reliability.
