250L–1000L production platform
Core models 250L / 350L / 500L share one control logic and one spare-parts kit; 650L and 1000L extend the same platform for higher daily output.
The Industry Grade Large series is built for buyers who need pharmaceutical-grade emulsion quality at production throughput, not lab-scale trial batches. Every system ships from the Wuxi, Jiangsu factory, has a CE / GMP-compliant three-layer stainless steel pot, and is backed by a 1-year warranty plus engineer-on-call support. (For 2L–150L R&D and pilot units, see our laboratory vacuum mixer range — this page deliberately focuses on the 250L–1000L production line.)
Core models 250L / 350L / 500L share one control logic and one spare-parts kit; 650L and 1000L extend the same platform for higher daily output.
All material-contacting surfaces in SUS316L; outer jackets in SUS304-2B. Mirror-polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm for GMP audits.

−0.09 MPa vacuum transfers oil & water phases into the main pot, eliminating air contamination and post-batch de-foaming.
Cover lifts automatically for full access during cleaning, batch changeover and CIP cycles — operator-safe and GMP-friendly.
Choose button panels for simple recipes, or Siemens / Mitsubishi PLC with HMI touch screen for full recipe management.
Electric heating via thermal oil jacket (≤ 500 L) or steam heating (≥ 500 L) with PID auto-temperature control and built-in cooling loop.
Fumigation-free wooden case, sea-worthy packaging. Remote video commissioning included; on-site engineer dispatch available worldwide.
This page documents the production-scale vacuum emulsifying mixer. MAXWELL builds the Industry Grade Large line in 250L, 350L, 500L, 650L and 1000L working capacities; the 250L / 350L / 500L trio is the most-specified configuration for cosmetic, toothpaste and ointment factories. A separate laboratory & pilot range (5L–150L) covers R&D and small-batch needs. Specifications below are reproduced from the MAXWELL datasheet; OEM/ODM deviation is available on request.

Selecting the right Industry Grade Large size is mostly a function of daily batch count and fill weight per unit. The table below is a practical starting point; MAXWELL engineers will confirm the final size against your recipe viscosity and filling speed.
| Model | Working capacity | Typical daily output* | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| VEM-250 | 200 L / batch | 1.0 – 1.6 t | Start-ups, private-label trials, single-SKU lines |
| VEM-350 | 280 L / batch | 1.4 – 2.2 t | Growing cosmetic / toothpaste brands, 2–3 SKUs |
| VEM-500 | 400 L / batch | 2.0 – 3.2 t | Established OEM/ODM factories, contract manufacturing |
| VEM-650 / 1000 | 520 / 800 L | 2.6 – 5.0 t | High-volume lines, regional export supply |
*Assumes 2–3 batches per 8-hour shift, 300 working days/year, 80% yield. Indicative only — confirm with MAXWELL based on your actual cycle time.
Buyers commonly step from a 250L to a 500L Industry Grade Large unit when daily demand crosses roughly 2 tonnes of finished emulsion — at that point the larger homogenizer (7.5 kW vs 4 kW) and wider scraper (3 kW vs 1.5 kW) shorten cycle time enough to avoid adding a second shift.
The MAXWELL mixer runs a four-stage process inside a sealed vacuum chamber. Understanding the sequence helps buyers match the machine to their recipe viscosity, batch size and required particle size.
Pre-mix (water & oil pots). Water-soluble ingredients are charged to the water pot and oil-soluble ingredients to the oil pot. Both pots are heated and stirred at 1500 rpm to fully dissolve solids (e.g. AES, AESA, LSA) before emulsification.
Vacuum transfer. The pre-mixed water phase and oil phase are drawn into the main emulsifying pot through the vacuum pipeline. Because the chamber holds −0.09 MPa, air is excluded from the entire transfer — no manual pouring, no foam generation.
Scraper agitation. An anchor-style scraper with PTFE blades sweeps the inner wall at 10–120 rpm (VFD-controlled). Residues on the wall are continuously wiped back into the bulk, so heat transfer through the jacket stays uniform.
High-shear homogenization. The bottom-emersion rotor–stator head runs at 3000 rpm, cutting, compressing and folding the emulsion until particle size drops to 2 – 6 µm. Bubbles that form are pulled out instantly by the vacuum, so the finished batch is glossy, air-free and aseptic.

According to the MAXWELL specification sheet, the full emulsification cycle typically completes in under 10 minutes once the raw materials are pre-mixed — a key throughput metric for cosmetic and pharmaceutical buyers comparing capital cost per batch.
The MAXWELL mixer physically separates raw-material pre-treatment from the main emulsification pot. This keeps the main vessel clean, cuts cycle time, and lets operators swap colour or fragrance batches in minutes rather than hours.
Three-layer stainless-steel pot body: inner SUS316L contact shell, middle jacket for heating/cooling, outer SUS304-2B shell. The cover lifts hydraulically for full opening. Inside, an anchor scraper with PTFE wiper blades runs the perimeter while a bottom-emersed high-shear homogenizer handles the fine dispersion.
Typically 60% of the working batch volume, water-soluble surfactants, thickeners, glycerin and actives are pre-dissolved here at up to 1500 rpm and 95 °C before vacuum transfer.
Around 40% of the working batch volume, oils, waxes, esters and oil-soluble actives are heated to 80–95 °C and stirred gently to ensure homogeneity before being drawn into the main emulsifying pot.

The MAXWELL vacuum emulsifying mixer is engineered for any process that requires de-aerated, fine-particle emulsions. The categories below are the most common end uses — the same platform is used by cosmetics labs, toothpaste contract manufacturers, pharma ointment lines and food sauce producers.
| Industry | Common products made on this machine |
|---|---|
| Personal care & cosmetics | Skin cream, body lotion, facial serum, BB cream, sunscreen, cleansing gel, scrub cream, eye gel, neck cream, hand sanitizer, shower gel, bubble bath, sugar scrub, baby lotion, moisturizing emulsion |
| Hair care | Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, hair dye, leave-in treatment, styling cream |
| Oral care | Toothpaste, dental cream, mouthwash, oral gel |
| Pharmaceutical & ointment | Ointment base, gel, topical cream, syrup suspension, antibiotic cream, hormone cream, sterilized emulsion |
| Food & condiment | Mayonnaise, salad dressing, Thousand Island sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, peanut butter, chili sauce, honey blends, dairy cream, juice concentrate, custard |
| Fine chemical | Lubricating grease, inkjet ink, pigment dispersion, wax emulsion, agrochemical suspension, detergent, fabric softener |
According to industry technical literature, a vacuum emulsifying mixer is the standard equipment of choice for any cream where the buyer specification calls for a particle size below 5 µm and a bubble-free, glossy finish — two requirements that atmospheric high-shear mixers cannot reliably meet.
