The 10L lab vacuum emulsifying machine is a closed, vacuum-operated benchtop system that blends, disperses and homogenizes creams, lotions, ointments and emulsions while removing air bubbles. Its defining feature is a pair of independent premix pots — a water pot and an oil pot — that pre-heat and pre-disperse each phase before a vacuum pump draws them into the 10 L main emulsifying pot. There, a wall-scraping agitator and a bottom 3000 rpm homogenizer turn the mix into a stable emulsion with particles as fine as 6 nm–2 µm. It is the standard R&D and pilot tool for face cream, lotion, ointment, serum and toothpaste formulation.
The VEM-10 is our most popular benchtop vacuum emulsifying machine. It combines a 10 L main emulsifying pot with a separate water pot and oil pot so you can develop water-phase and oil-phase formulas in parallel before emulsification.
The VEM-10 is built around four proven technologies that let you develop stable emulsions faster, with finer particles and easier cleaning.
The 10L lab machine is equipped with a separate water-phase pot and oil-phase pot, each with its own heating and 1500 rpm impeller mixer. Pre-disperse the aqueous and lipid phases in parallel, then vacuum-transfer both into the main pot for emulsification.
The all-round wall-scraping agitator is driven by a frequency converter for stepless speed adjustment (10–120 rpm), sweeping material from the tank wall toward the homogenizer so no dead zone is left and every batch is uniform.
The bottom rotor-stator homogenizer runs at 3000 rpm and powerfully mixes solid and liquid raw materials, rapidly dissolving insoluble actives and shortening the production period while saving energy.
The pot body is welded from three-layer stainless steel plate (SUS304 / SUS316L) with mirror polishing inside and out, fully conforming to GMP. Electric or steam heating with auto temperature control, and easy bottom or pump discharge.
See how the VEM-10 premixes in the water and oil pots, draws the batch under vacuum into the 10 L emulsifying pot, and homogenizes it with the 3000 rpm rotor-stator.
On the 10L lab vacuum emulsifying machine, raw materials are first prepared in the two premix pots — the aqueous phase in the water pot and the lipid phase in the oil pot — then drawn under vacuum into the 10 L emulsifying pot, where scraping agitation and high-shear homogenization create a stable, bubble-free emulsion.

Premix in water & oil pots: Charge the aqueous phase into the water pot and the lipid phase into the oil pot; heat and stir each separately at 1500 rpm.
Vacuum transfer: A vacuum pump draws the premixed materials into the emulsifying tank.
Scrape & fold: The middle stirrer and Teflon scrapers sweep residues from the tank wall to create a constantly renewed interface; blades cut, compress and fold the material toward the homogenizer.
Homogenize: The high-speed shear wheel and fixed stator cut the material in the rotor-stator gap, turning it into particles of 6nm–2µm almost instantly.
Defoam: Because the emulsifying tank works under vacuum, bubbles generated during mixing are removed in time, improving product stability and appearance.
The VEM-10 10 L unit featured on this page is our most popular benchtop vacuum emulsifying machine. It sits within MAXWELL's full vacuum-emulsifying platform — a Laboratory & Small range of 5L, 10L, 30L, 50L, 100L and 150L, and an Industrial range of 250L, 350L, 500L (VEM-500), 650L and 1000L. All share the same wall-scraping agitation, 3000 rpm homogenization and vacuum architecture, so a formula validated on 10 L scales up linearly. The 10L column is highlighted in the lab table below.

★ The 10L (VEM-10) model is highlighted — the water pot and oil pot each hold 5 L working / 6 L design volume. Scraper stirring speed 10–120 rpm (VFD), homogenizing speed 3000 rpm, water & oil pot stirring speed 1500 rpm across the whole range.
When your formula is validated on the 10L lab unit and ready for production, MAXWELL scales the same vacuum-emulsifying architecture up to 250L–1000L industrial lines. Larger homogenizer and scraper motors, three-layer jacketed tanks and automated temperature control support high-throughput manufacturing.

Formulas developed and tested on the 10L lab vacuum emulsifying machine scale directly to production across five major industries, from personal care to heavy chemicals.

Cosmetic: face cream, hand cream, sunscreen, eyelash cream, hair gel, lotion, shampoo, nail polish, conditioner.
Pharmaceutical: ointments, syrup, nutritional and bio-products, pharmaceutical pastes.
Daily use: toothpaste, detergents, shoe polish, soap, fragrance.
Food: sauces, jam, chocolate, butter, vegetable & animal proteins.
Chemical: paint, pigment, dyes, coatings, adhesives, detergents.
It is used to homogenize, emulsify and mix creams, lotions, ointments, serums and pastes under vacuum on a benchtop scale — ideal for cosmetics, pharmaceutical and daily-chemical R&D, pilot batches and formula scale-up before industrial production.
The 10L machine has two independent premix pots: a water-phase pot and an oil-phase pot, each with its own heating and 1500 rpm impeller mixer. They let you pre-heat and pre-disperse the aqueous and lipid phases in parallel, then vacuum-draw both into the 10 L main pot — improving homogeneity and saving batch time.
Materials are premixed and heated in the water and oil pots, vacuum-drawn into the 10 L main pot, continuously scraped from the wall toward the bottom homogenizer, sheared to 6 nm–2 µm particles, and de-aerated under vacuum for a stable, bubble-free emulsion.
The bottom rotor-stator homogenizer runs at 3000 rpm and reduces particles to 6 nm–2 µm almost instantly, delivering a fine, stable emulsion. The wall-scraping agitator is adjustable from 10–120 rpm via VFD.
The pot body is welded from imported three-layer stainless steel plate (SUS304 / SUS316L) with mirror polishing inside and out, fully conforming to GMP for hygiene and cleanability. Contact parts use SUS316L where higher corrosion resistance is required.
Beyond the 10L lab unit, the lab family covers 5L, 30L, 50L, 100L and 150L, and the industrial range spans 250L, 350L, 500L (VEM-500), 650L and 1000L. Custom OEM design is available so your 10L formula scales linearly to production.
